I am a passionate and experienced mental health professional and counselling trainer with over 25 years experience working in both the UK and Australia.
My career in mental health started in the UK in 1990 in an old Victorian hospital and over the course of the following 17 years worked in both hospital and community settings in the UK’s National Health Service (NHS), as care for those people experiencing mental illness evolved. Much of my work consisted of working with a variety of disciplines and practitioners to implement the UK’s National Service Framework for Mental Health and local modernisation agendas.
Upon arrival to Australia, I worked in private practice and as a trainer for a leading Registered Training Organisation (RTO) , specialising in training the CHC51015 Diploma of Counselling.
In 2016, I became a registered and accredited trainer with Mental Health First Aid Australia, allowing me to provide Mental Health First Aid Training to individuals and corporations across Australia, via a face to face 12-hour workshop. I also regularly present to workplaces and groups on Mentally Well Workplaces.
I hold qualifications in the following:
- Graduate Certificate in Career Development Practice
- Standard Mental Health First Aid Instructor
- Diploma of Counselling
- Cert IV in Training and Assessment
- PRINCE 2 Practitioner – Project Management
- Postgraduate Diploma in Management
- Postgraduate Certificate in Management
- National Certificate in Public Administration – Business and Finance
